In response to The Conservative Woman: Welcome, President Trump, we are proud to have you here, Barry Sheridan wrote:
What a remarkable man Donald Trump is, for never in my lengthening lifetime have I seen and heard so much condemnation and outright hostility towards one individual; not even the late and very great Margaret Thatcher had to put up with this. What is even more fascinating is how he seems to gather strength from this noise and fury. Mr President, thank you for coming here despite the indifference of our establishment. You have friends in this decaying land, and while I am no one of consequence I am honoured to think of you in this way. Thank you too, America, for the incredible patience in supporting an ungrateful Europe: you have done more as a nation than anyone could rightfully expect. The time has come to pack up and return home, using in future your treasure for the benefit of US citizens and not those who rarely seem to have a good word for your leader.
