Whether you like him or not is irrelevant. You have got to admire the sheer amount of guts this man has. For 25 years he has fought tooth and nail to get us out of the ghastly EU. Along the way he has shown up the EU for what it is, and made them squirm in the fake parliament in Berlaymont/Strasbourg. He has kept to his word too, when he thought Brexit was going to be delivered he stepped back, only to have to come back because it became clear that the wish of 17.4million people was going to be betrayed. The astonishing success of the BP is no flash in the pan either. After March 29 it was clear that the only way this impasse was going to be resolved peacefully was via the ballot box, and he had a ready made group of automatic supporters.
It’s interesting that both Farage and Martin Daubney (in his speech at the Wolverhampton BP rally) mention Featherstone. More than anywhere else what happened there should send shivers down the non-existent spines of every Remainer. A northern pit village that has voted Labour since time immemorial (currently Yvette Cooper’s seat) cheered a former Tory Minister in the form of the diminutive Ann Widdecombe to the rafters. Journalists from various papers were agog, they just did not know what to make of it.
It really is very simple. Either you believe in honouring a democratic vote or you don’t, and those in Parliament that don’t are going to be made to pay for their actions.
