May even had it announced on the side that children’s funerals will now be paid for by the taxpayer. If a case can be made for free children’s funerals then the same can be said of the cost of any funeral: of a husband or wife, mother or father, brother or sister. All these are bereavements and all these funerals are expensive. Bereavement falls on rich and poor alike.
I was at the Brexit Party conference in Birmingham yesterday and there was a packed house of over 5,000 people from all over the UK and, I have to say, the atmosphere was electric. All the speakers were on top form and all talked incredible sense but, naturally, our media was nowhere to be seen. I could not imagine the Socialists or Neo-Socialist Conservative party mustering anything like that excitement. Jon Snow would have to bend the truth even more to say there were all ‘white people’. Of course, the majority of the audience were white people but both black and Asian people were well represented and as enthusiastic as the rest of us. Has any of this been reported by the BBC? The most important topics on the BBC website this morning are ‘carpets of ice in a Mexican city’, ‘Leg fat is better than belly fat’ and that silly old pensioner, Attenborough, banging on about Glastonbury going ‘plastic free’. Thank you God, our planet is saved.
Brian Robins replied:
Yes, isn’t it strange that while those of us who qualify for the description are ‘old white men’, Attenborough is a ‘national treasure’? Once one of his great admirers, he has in my eyes completely destroyed his legacy. And I suppose it is not surprising the BBC ignored the Brexit Party do in Birmingham; after all it has promised to remove the corp’s licence.
