I watched that film last weekend too. There is a lot to recommend Talking Pictures. They often have a decent film or at least something watchable on. Not having things like Netflix I have found I spend a lot of time watching this channel now. It’s one of the ‘Go to’ channels in our house when looking for proper entertainment – ie not full of sex, diversity, poor historicity and modern multi-culturalism. You can call me all the phobes you like.
By the way, in a modern version the ‘love story’ would have to be Moore and Deckers.

The saddest thing about Talking Pictures is that the films from the 1940s and 1950s so often depict a completely different country – England – which no longer exists except in isolated pockets of resistance.
