Readers’ comments: Babies and the throwaway society

-

In response to Laura Perrins: Kids are a handful so let’s kill them,

richard verney wrote:

Today we live in a throwaway society, and unfortunately that includes unborn babies. In the US, they are even trying to extend that to include abortion after birth. Strangely enough, many have more compassion for the suffering of animals than the suffering of a viable life.

The People’s Greyhound Q.C. wrote:

Is it a coincidence that the same liberal-left who so eagerly promote abortion among the indigenous population are the first to demand we let in swarms from the third world ‘because our birthrate has declined’?

John Fannon replied:

Politicians are on record as saying that the UK needs 175,000 immigrants per annum to keep the economy going, yet at the same time our abortion rate is about 200,000 per annum.

Mozzy wrote:

Just this week it was newsworthy that many women who suffer miscarriages later develop ‘PTSD’. The medical intervention in the abortion clinic seems to be a breeze, however.

It may be that some see abortion as little more than late contraception.

Not as fanciful as it sounds?
