In response to Timothy Bradshaw: Chlorine chicken is just a red herring,

Chlorinated chicken has got nothing whatsoever to do with animal welfare. The chlorine is administered after death to kill off any bacteria. Our chickens are full of salmonella bacteria that can kill us. The American chicken has none. Also, bagged salad that we may buy in supermarkets has been washed in chlorine; toothpaste has chlorine in it as does our water supply. Any aversion to American chicken is simply Project Fear that is being drummed up by the Remainers suffering from Brexit Derangement Syndrome.
What these Remoaners should be complaining about is halal meat which is cruel in the extreme to animals who suffer a lingering and very painful death.
To those who are trying to make political capital against importing chickens from America I would say, Go for a swim at your local pool and chlorinate yourself.

Before I reached the end of the article I was wondering about halal so I was pleased it became part. Such indifference to this inhumane slaughter is amazing for Brits, it astounds me. It seems every other charity advert is for saving one animal or another but strangely silent on this issue.
Silent too are our beloved RSPCA.They had a little inconspicuous section on their website about their disapproval so I emailed them, I believed it ought to have been their top issue, it’s not and still isn’t. Quite appalling.

As for the EU having higher animal welfare standards than the US, it’s bunk. Long transportation of live animals is allowed. And Danish pig production is industrial, France’s beef production is in warehouses. This whole chlorine chicken thing is hypocritical nonsense and indeed a diversionary tactic by the remainer virus.
