Readers’ comments: Snow-white snobbery

I used to have a drinking buddy who was a similarly sanctimonious leftie hypocrite. He lived in Sutton on a private road but saying the area was ‘too white’, moved into a townhouse off the Portobello Road in Notting Hill. He was furthering his socialist credentials by relocating to a much more ethnically diverse part of London. Slightly less supportive of his socialist ideals was the home he was moving into, an ex-council house purchased under Tory right to buy. It was worth well over a million several years ago.

He now lives in Winchester with his partner and their son. He got tired of tripping over police crime tape and serious incident notices.

He and Snow sum up the inherent hypocrisy of leftie liberals. And, increasingly, the quite brazen racism.

Snow comes across as a woke snob. He perhaps really means white English working class. The presumption in the very out-of-touch media class is that the vote to leave the EU can only have been racist. Even if Snow might feel this he cannot say it openly. Bizarrely, I doubt he sees himself as white in the same way he views the protesters as white.
