In response to Alan Ashworth: A Corbyn disciple’s school for scandal,

Progressives never lead from the front. See also the air miles clocked up by the Prince of Charles and Dame Lady Professor Emma Thompson, rushing round officiously, telling us that air travel is bad for us.

What they always mean is that good stuff is OK for us, the quality folk, the nomenklatura. It’s you oiks that must cut your carbon emissions and send your kids to the sink Comprehensive.

So, when I succeed Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, I’ll be sending all those lefties’ children to some forsaken comp; telling Prince Charles to get on his bike; and billeting all those lovely economic migrants in the homes of progressive MPs and judges. And I keep my promises.

The hypocrisy of these people is the best guarantee that the damage they do when they get power is limited by the care they take not to suffer ill consequences themselves from the rules they make for the rest of us.

It would be nice to know though how Childs can afford Roedean fees on a trade union official’s salary. Does he get a discount because he’s an employee of the National Education Union, which has a certain amount of influence over Roedean?

He’s right that his child’s prospects in life should not be sacrificed on the altar of his ideological preferences but if he thinks he should not be held accountable himself for his own flagrant contradictions he’s very wrong.

Socialism is inherently hypocritical, since it claims equality for all yet operates on a perfectly standard hierarchy of many different levels and grades. All simply cannot be equal. It’s impossible, as it attempts, and fails, to deny human nature. The refusal to acknowledge this fundamental truth glares out from the demand here for family privacy, neatly erecting a shield to avoid having to explain or justify any sanctimonious arrogance.

Let’s not forget the Nomenklatura in the defunct Soviet Union, whose children had privileged access to elite educational establishments.

Privileging their own offspring is a thing with Leftists. It’s natural to want the best for your own, but when it’s only for you and not for the proles . . .

‘Some are more equal than others’. Yes indeed.

Describes the left perfectly, maybe they knew something we have since lost!
