In response to Caroline ffiske: This, Mayor Khan, is where your trans agenda goes so tragically wrong,

The letter from the American mum is heart-wrenching. There was a very honest and similarly distressing entry on my work intranet a few months ago. A member of staff wrote about the profound sense of bereavement at ‘losing her daughter’ after gender reassignment surgery. The blog was part of some ‘transgender understanding week’ and meant to be encouraging. I felt very sorry for the people involved in the life-changing decisions and was not encouraged at all.
What happened to gender dysphoria as a form of mental illness and why isn’t that being treated more proactively before young people are wheeled into operating theatres?

The fact that Penny Mordaunt is the Secretary of State for Defence and is also Minister for Women and Equality is proof of how downgraded defence has become under the Conservatives. No wonder the Iranians are laughing at us.
On the subject of transgender – women are women and men are men, no matter how much medicine or surgery they undergo, as it is a matter of chromosomes assigned at birth. I had not heard about this vexatious suit in Canada, but am not surprised it is happening and I am sure the same will happen here soon.

It should not have escaped anyone’s attention we have had a Tory government since 2010 and fully Tory since 2015.

I have been following this issue for about three years. Recently I wrote to my MP (Conservative) expressing my concern at the ideologically driven medicalisation of gender questioning children and young people, and referred him to the transcripts of a meeting at the House of Lords where several clinicians outlined their deep concerns at this ‘experimentation’. His reply made no reference to the points which I had raised, but instead was a ‘cut and paste’ job virtue-signalling about the government’s support to tolerance and diversity teaching in schools. I fear that most politicians are too fearful of being branded ‘phobic’ to address the issue. To quote Professor Jordan Peterson, ‘this will stop in about 15 years time when the law suits start to appear’.

Mayor Khan, and others, want the transition process to be ‘de-medicalised’.
Er . . . transitioning is only possible with medical intervention – drugs, hormones, radical surgery. If transitioning is to be ‘de-medicalised’ then surely the logical outcome is that the NHS (i.e. us, the taxpayers) should stop paying for it. If ‘being trans is not an illness’ (Theresa May) then it does not require the NHS to treat it.

You won’t hear this too often but I applaud Sadiq Khan.
If he’s got the time to write open letters on issues as important as this, he must have stopped the knife crime that has been so prevalent of late. In fact, he must have stopped all crime to be sending letters such as this.
Well done, Sadiq! I don’t know when you did it but hats off!
