IF 2019 were a dystopian novel, it would surpass Orwell in sheer evil. Who would have thought the state would resort to child abuse to enforce the progressive narrative? With impressionable youngsters now forced to believe gender doesn’t mean anything, and terrified their world is about to end thanks to questionable climate data, you’d be forgiven for thinking we’d peaked. Sadly, we’re nowhere near.
The Right was handed a rare victory this week, as Jessica Yaniv (the world’s most famous man claiming to be a woman while asking to have his testicles waxed), lost his human rights lawsuit against the beauticians who refused him. Elsewhere the Left upped the ante and played their joker.
TCW has reported on the case of James Younger, a seven-year-old boy caught in the middle of an acrimonious divorce. It is chilling in terms of how far the state will and can go to destroy young lives. James is being torn between a mother who claims he is a transgender girl named ‘Luna’, and a father who claims he is not.
Monday brought with it the terrifying revelation that a Texas jury had ruled 11-1 against James’s father in his application for sole custody, and paved the way for a Pandora’s Box of horrors to be unleashed at the mother’s behest, including chemical castration.
Other likely outcomes from the jury’s ruling are that James’s father will be forbidden from calling his son ‘James’, be required to ‘affirm’ James as a girl, enrol in a class on transgenderism, and endure supervised visitations.
The case has garnered outrage from prominent conservative figures in light of Monday’s ruling:
This is horrifying & tragic. For a parent to subject such a young child to life-altering hormone blockers to medically transition their sex is nothing less than child abuse.https://t.co/sl8VcBgfTD via @nypost

And it may be thanks to such influence that a ray of hope has appeared at the eleventh hour, when Judge Kim Cooks ruled that James’s father should have a say in his son’s gender transition.
The evidence at the very least appears to indicate that the mother is pushing hard for gender transitioning, and that James himself may be attempting to placate her, rather than fully understanding the issue himself:

Divorces are ugly. Parents fight; children are torn between them, and sometimes used to exact revenge. It’s certainly arguable that James is being coerced against his best interests, but even if you assume the mother is acting in good faith, surely gender transitioning is a life choice best left for adulthood?
Let me suggest an alternative: the facts of the case are irrelevant. It doesn’t matter whether James’s mother is pushing her son against his will or whether James really does think he’s a girl – because James is a child. Parents and courts alike ought to be united in putting the interests of children above whims and fashions.
We do not generally allow children knowingly to harm themselves. There are age restrictions on alcohol, tobacco, tattoos, sex and full-time employment; enlisting in the military, leaving education and myriad other less harmful activities than gender transitioning. What larger psychological, emotional and physical life choice can there be than restructuring your body? Surely this merits an age restriction of at least 18 if anything does?
The liberal desire that everyone can be whatever they want has already extracted too great a toll on the younger generation. Hundreds of children pressured to transition now regret their choice, and want to revert. It’s too late for them, but it doesn’t need to be too late for James.
My heart goes out to James and his father. Allowing your son to be destroyed legally is appalling. The Governor of Texas fortunately is similarly outraged. He has announced that the Texas Attorney General’s Office and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services will be looking into the Younger case.
I can only pray that the explosion of outrage at this ruling will prove enough either for the Governor to use what powers he has to overrule it or to see that it is delayed for ever.
