Say no to Plan B: Give this Together Declaration to your MP today

-

IN A world where everyone has been disempowered and infantilised by the government for almost two years, many feel powerless in the fight against the authoritarian ‘creep’ that appears to be turning into a tsunami.

The insidious introduction of vaccine passports in the UK is one of the most illogical and illiberal policies dreamed up by any government in modern Britain.

Imposing a system of segregation on large swathes of society is not benign or trivial, and deserves enormous public opposition. Given the demographics of those preferring to opt out, it could also be construed as a racist policy. It does not take much imagination to see where such an initiative will inevitably end. Over time, we will see our society transformed into something that would seem far more at home in China than here in Western Europe. Is this really what people want for their children’s future?

George Orwell wrote: ‘No one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end.’ Never have these words seemed more portentous.

But amongst the gloomy shadows of growing authoritarianism, a grassroots movement of ordinary citizens is organising to unite and take action.

The Together Declaration which was drawn up earlier this autumn already has nearly 150,000 signatories. They include Laura Dodsworth, the author of A State of Fear, Laurence Fox, leader of the Reclaim Party, DJ Danny Rampling, TV chef Tonia Buxton and Church of England curate Rev Jamie Franklin amongst others. Today, Friday December 10, the plan is for as many people as possible to visit their MPs’ surgeries throughout the UK to deliver this letter, already written for you, which you can copy and paste. It provides a concise and evidence-based statement of our opposition to vaccine passports, and asks for a clear response as to their position. MPs who have already made their opposition public can be thanked! You find the full list (as of writing) here.

We hope that this show of co-ordinated solidarity will make politicians start to think about who they really are here to serve. With signatories to the Together Declaration growing daily and given the total absence of  logic to the proposal, it would be wonderful to see more MPs persuaded to join the ranks of those already saying ‘No’.
