Should a hypocrite like you be Qatarred and feathered?

GEORGE Netherfield is a multi-millionaire businessman, former footballer, and now a football commentator. He is also a prominent supporter of the Labour Party and in the 2020 election he urged voters to support Jeremy Corbyn.

Although he has often spoken out on behalf of causes such as Black Lives Matter, and whatever it is that the LGTQNB++ community want, he has accepted an offer to travel to the state of Qatar to report on the coming World Cup.

TCW’s ace Football Correspondent (Our Man with his head in the Stands), Frank Ostrich, suggested to George that in view of Qatar’s domestic policies he was being something of a hypocrite.

GN: Yes, I know what you’re getting at. However, I talked this over with my friend Keir Starmer. He said he was until recently a member of the Rockefeller-founded Trilateral Commission, the membership of which includes the all-round manipulator and Schwab mentor Henry Kissinger, Larry Fink of BlackRock, and Daniela Schwarzer, who is executive director of George Soros’s Open Society Foundation. He said Jeffrey Epstein used to be a member, and if he could get away with those sort of associations, he saw no reason why I shouldn’t go and earn a few quid in Qatar.

TCW: What is it that you offer that other presenters don’t have?

GN: Commentating on football is not as easy as it looks. Yes, people like Carra (Jamie Carragher) and that black guy, Lineker, can say things like, ‘What a pass’ or ‘That was never a yellow card’, but it takes a master like me to come out with ‘Pickford pokes the penalty past the post’, or ‘Phil Foden is floored by a flailing Fofana forearm’, or ‘Son swivelled sweetly sending a soaring shot into the back of the Sunderland sack.’ Quite frankly, it’s absolutely laughable when Carra tries that sort of thing. You should try saying them quickly. You can’t do it, can you?

TCW: Do you think that your presence will change the culture of Qatar?

GN: There’s no doubt that when I speak, people listen. If I get the chance to speak to the ruler of Qatar, I will absolutely have a few words with him. Watch this space. In a few months Qatar could be a totally different place.

TCW: Have you anything to add in your defence?

GN: Yes, I know I was a mediocre right back who often got caught out at the wrong end of the pitch, but at least I was a better defender than Alexander-Arnold. To be fair, my granny is. The Liverpool defence is all over the place at the moment, and don’t get me started on United’s.

TCW: The first England match is against Iran, a despotic country in turmoil partly caused by its treatment of women. What do you think will happen there?

GN: To be honest with you Frank, like Sir Keir, nobody in the Labour Party has the foggiest idea about what a woman is these days, so I think it’s best not to comment.

TCW: But do you think England will win?

GN: With Southgate as manager?  Not a chance, Frank. Not-a-Chance! The back four are absolutely rubbish; he doesn’t like creative midfield players; and Kane is on his own up front. I’ll tell you something, I would be a much better England manager.

TCW: It has been reported that your former teammate David Beckham has been offered £150million to become a global ambassador for Qatar. What was your reaction when you heard about that?

GN: I can’t say I was over the moon. Truth be told, I was absolutely furious; sick as a parrot I was. When we played together, I was always covering for Becks, he never tracked back unless Fergie gave him a rocket. I must be honest and say I think I would have been a far, far better choice.
