Steyn and Riley on Mrs T, Falklands figurehead forty years on

FORTY years ago today, on April 2, 1982, the Falkland Islanders woke up to find that Argentinian troops had begun a full-scale invasion. Margaret Thatcher, the Prime Minister of the time, was not about to abandon British citizens to the fate of a military dictatorship however far away.

Mark Steyn recounted the amazing story of her persistence, joined by military historian and TCW writer Lt-Gen Jonathon Riley, on his GB News programme on Thursday evening.

You can find a short history of the Falklands War here.
