Reader’s Comment of the Week
In response to Andrew Cadman: Germany will bleed southern Europe dry, A real liberal wrote:
How we all love to despise and patronise those dull, inflexible, hard-working, law-abiding, tax-paying, surplus generating, peaceful, productive, modern Germans. If only they’d back off on a few of those fatal flaws, it would be so much better for the rest of feckless, deficit-funded, welfare-driven, clientalist, debt-building, future-destroying, corrupt Europe.
TCW Hero of the Week
As Labour beat themselves up trying to decide how far left to shift following their election drubbing, Liz Kendall has been standing up for common sense, voting in favour of the government’s welfare reforms.Liz understands what Labour needs to do to win again. Let’s remember, they haven’t won a majority without a certain Anthony Blair since 1974. Lefty Burnham nor rabid lefty Corbyn have any chance of bucking that trend. That said, the support of this website is sure not to do anything to help Kendall defeat them in the party’s leadership contest.
TCW Villain of the Week
Ron Hogg, Labour’s Police and Crime Commissioner in Durham, defended his daft new policy this week, which said officers in the county should no longer prosecute cannabis users who grow the drug for their own consumption. He must have had the dealers laughing their heads off. Predictably, Hogg quickly back pedalled in the face of staunch criticism from David Raynes of National Drug Prevention and others. Nevertheless, very naive. Just another sign of the legalisation lobby coming at us hammer and tongs.
