Reader’s Comment of the Week
In response to Karen Harradine: Should have gone to Specsavers – politicians blinded by Calais, Andrew Kidd wrote:
“Why are we bringing child refugees to the UK where bigotry and xenophobia stalk the land and the economy will shortly be imploding post-Brexit? Surely it would be in their best interest to send their families to rejoin them in the safety of Socialist France firmly in the welcoming embrace of the EU.”
TCW Hero of the Week
In a break from the norm, we are awarding this week’s ‘Hero’ to all Tory MPs. Why? They made impeccable choices in electing sound voices such as Dominic Raab, John Whittingdale and Peter Lilley to the influentual Brexit Committee. More importantly, they kept the dreadful Anna Soubry off the committee. Awful Anna would have used the opportunity to grandstand, screech and seek to overturn Brexit, so we congratulate Tory MPs for preventing this moaning minnie from getting any more airtime.
TCW Villain of the Week
Taking time off from his perma-tanned mission of advising murderous dictators, Tony Blair has stuck his oar into the Brexit debate. The former PM said that there should be “options open” to overturn the Brexit vote. Rather ominously, Blair said that the Remoaners needed to “build the capability to mobilise and to organise” against the democratic will of the British people – claiming that it is possible for the UK to “change our mind” on the “Brexit catastrophe”. We won’t take lectures from a man who masterminded open door immigration and is one of the most discredited political figures ever. The people have spoken – a period of silence from Mr Blair cannot come too soon.
