Reader’s Comment of the Week
In response to Kathy Gyngell: The cultural counter-revolution of 2016 is only a beginning, North Angle wrote:
“There’s only one way 2017 is going to be as good, or better, than 2016 – and that’s if we, as true conservatives:
1 – Ditch political correctness in all its forms and rail against the Left at every opportunity, to anyone and everyone, without fear
2 – Teach our children about conservative values and the dangers of cultural Marxism so that they understand that their teachers do not teach, they indoctrinate
3 – Protest against the mainstream media; do not buy their newspapers, do not pay their TV tax
There is no balance in this country. The Left hold sway. Until balance is restored, we must fight.”
TCW Hero of the Week
The Bank of England’s chief economist Andy Haldane almost made up for the months of Project Fear emitted by his boss Mark Carney ahead of the Brexit vote. Haldane said that it was a “fair cop” that they were overly pessimistic about the impact of Brexit on the economy – commenting that the economics profession was “to some degree in crisis” because of repeated ‘Michael Fish’ moments.
It is going to take a lot more than this for the establishment to make up for their disgraceful behaviour during the referendum campaign, but this is certainly a good start – well done Andy.
TCW Villain of the Week
New Year, same old grievances from embittered Remainers as Sir Ivan Rogers quit as our Ambassador to the EU with a parting shot that our Brexit strategy suffered from “muddled thinking”. TCW says ‘good riddance’ to a man who was clearly intent on prolonging his strop because his side lost a democratic vote – now let’s just let Theresa get on with the job.
