Kathy Gyngell: Evan Davis personifies the contempt of BBC elitists for Brexit

Belinda Brown: Vengeful harridans can kick an innocent boy out of university

Laura Perrins: Bullying Ofsted insists little girls study transgenderism

Simon Marcus: Stop and search works in Glasgow, why not in London?

Reader’s Comment of the Week

In response to Paul T Horgan: We are in for a nasty dose of socialism unless conservatives fight back soon, LoveMeIAmALiberal wrote:

“Conservatives will never take to the streets, it’s not what we do. The starting point is much simpler: we need to stop apologising for being conservatives. We need to challenge each of every phoney socialist claim to moral superiority. Our biggest enemy is self-hating conservatives in the Tory Party who buy the nonsense of being the nasty party. It’s only when we take on these lies that we can hope to make a convincing case for a conservative political outlook.”

TCW Hero of the Week

Tory MP Peter Bone spoke for most decent people this week when he reacted with incredulity to Commons Speaker John Bercow’s decision to allow male MPs not to wear ties in debates. Bone argued that Bercow’s move “reduces the esteem” of Parliament and that it “does, slice by slice, make our Parliament more like a county council or a devolved assembly.” The Commons chamber is, like a boardroom or an office, a place of work – not a trendy advertising company. Bravo to Mr Bone for speaking up for sartorial standards.

TCW Villain of the Week

Evan Davis was at the vanguard of the BBC’s latest full frontal attack on something they simply cannot understand – the way people voted in the EU referendum. He took out his frustration on former Brexit Minister David Jones, interrupting and berating him in his attempts to rewrite the result of the recent election as an excuse to stop Brexit in its tracks. You can read Kathy Gyngell’s scathing review of the Newsnight episode here – is this what our licence fee gets us?

Lefty Lunacy of the Week
