Reader’s Comment of the Week
In response to Niall McCrae: Class matters more than gender in our ideological divide, Colkitto03 wrote:
“The growing resentment of men (especially white men) in the West is the natural conclusion of decades of identity and gender politics. Add the ecomomic damage of globalisation and then to have a a huge discontented block of voters, who feel disenfranchised by the political and media elite.
“In my naivety I thought that after Trump and Brexit many in politics and the media might just ‘get it’. I thought that that they could not deny the facts any longer. ‘There Are None So Blind As Those Who Will Not See’”
TCW Hero of the Week
Monty Python’s John Cleese gave some cheer to the Brexit brigade by reaffirming his backing for setting ourselves free from the Ministry of Silly Walks that is the Brussels establishment. Cleese boomed that he didn’t want “to be run by a bunch of European bureaucrats because they always look after themselves first” and had faith that even though “it will be five years before we know” how it will turn out, Britain is definitely better off out. How refreshing, a luvvie Brexiteer – Brexit will truly give us an opportunity to look out into the world and say ‘now for something completely different’.
TCW Villain of the Week
Jeremy Corbyn has excelled himself this week. First, he hounded Sarah Champion MP out of the Shadow Cabinet for the crime of speaking the truth. It was wrong to ‘label a whole community’, he said. That 90 per cent organised-gang child sexual exploitation is by Pakistani-heritage Muslims and 97 per cent of its victims are white is obviously not significant to Mr C. Now he is blaming #Barcelona, seen through the Corbyn prism, on the van. Not its driver or occupants; not their violent Islamist-Jihadist totalitarian ideology. Let’s hope that Ms Champion’s supporters, Sajid Javid, Amina Lone (a former Labour candidate born to Pakistani parents) and former Home Secretary David Blunkett will find time to speak up and put Mr Corbyn right on this one too.
