THE much-loved children’s TV show Sesame Street is to feature a drag queen.
A Facebook post for the programme, which is aimed at pre-school children, says that Billy Porter, an LGBT activist, will be bringing his ‘fierce vibes to Sesame Street’, and shows a picture of the bearded performer in a tuxedo-cum-ballgown.
Is the inclusion of such a performer part of teaching small children about the world or is it tantamount to child abuse? Should parents boycott Sesame Street? Are there any children’s programmes they can trust for their sons and daughters to watch? Discuss!
