DO people understand how much money the Markles (I’m renaming the insufferable Duke and Duchess of Sussex as the Markles, because as we all know, she’s the boss) will have to make for them to achieve the lifestyle they want? Go through the wedding-guest list: this is the crowd they mix with, not the crumbling British aristocracy.
We are not talking a small trust fund here, and £2.4million income from Prince Charles there. No, Sir. We are talking Elton John money. We are talking George Clooney money – a net worth of half a billion dollars. Serena Williams (her bestie who threw the baby shower) has an estimated net worth of 180million dollars. This is the Champions’ League we are talking about here, not the third division.
What the Markles currently have is small change, small change down the back of the couch, compared with what they will need. This will require them to cash in seriously on their royalty – and they’ve already begun by having their cake and eating it as the saying goes.
