The party of the spliff?

-

William Hague stepped into the cannabis legalisation debate on Monday and the drug-obsessed media went into overdrive. The Telegraph, the newspaper that published Hague’s ‘plan by the Conservative Party to get down with the kids and be the party of the spliff’ (as Peter Hitchens put it in his inimitable way on The Daily Politics and which you can see below) went on to invite some counter voices, mine included.

You can read my article here, and another in-depth piece by Dr Kevin Sabet on the reality of legalisation of cannabis in the American states which have gone down this route here.

No one, however, cuts to the chase on the hypocrisies and stupidities of some of our politicians like Peter Hitchens. I leave you with this: ‘A plan by the Conservative Party to get down with the kids and be the party of the spliff’ as tweeted by the BBC’s Daily Politics show #bbcdp.

Is William Hague right?
