I AM rather late with the latest MHRA Yellow Card reporting summary this week, I’m afraid. It would be nice to say that adverse events have finally stabilised. Unfortunately I can’t. A further 18 deaths have been recorded since I last reported, bringing the total to 1,972.
Looking at the pericarditis and myocarditis events alone, on top of the 1,790 reactions that were recorded up to January 12, in the one week since a further 60 events have been reported. This is particularly worrying. A large-scale British based research project – published in preprint form in December – has already established the connection between the vaccine and increased risk. Furthermore, evidence of surging myocarditis rates across Europe following the distribution of the vaccine has come to light.
Taking the research first, described as a self-controlled case series analysis of 42,200,614 people aged 13 years or more, it evaluated the association between Covid-19 vaccination and myocarditis, stratified by age and sex, and included 10,978,507 people receiving a third vaccine dose.
The key findings are particularly relevant to vaccination of younger males: ‘Despite more myocarditis events occurring in older persons, the risk following Covid-19 vaccination was largely restricted to younger males aged less than 40 years, where the risks of myocarditis following vaccination and infection were similar. However, the notable exception was that in younger males receiving a second dose of mRNA-1273 vaccine, the risk of myocarditis was higher following vaccination than infection, with an additional 101 events estimated following a second dose of mRNA-1273 vaccine compared to 7 events following a positive SARS-CoV-2 test [my emphases].’
The point is that vaccination policy should be tailored to age when it comes to heart risk for although the association between Covid-19 infection and myocarditis was observed in all ages for both sexes, it was substantially higher in those older than 40 years.
The researchers simply say that ‘these findings have serious implications for vaccination policy’. They certainly raise a huge question about the acceptable balance of risk of vaccination – just on this one index – for younger men.
In an investigation for the Epoch Times, Rav Arora reports surging myocarditis rates across Europe, saying they are up by 35-70 per cent nationally. He found that two countries, France and Germany, were tracking the issue. You can read his full report here.
His rebuttal to the argument that Covid also causes myocarditis? Covid cannot, he says, account for the excess cases recorded in Germany and France last year as they fell in the first year of the pandemic and rose only in 2021, the year vaccines were rolled out to the public.
As to the situation in the UK, once again we continue to be fobbed off. Replying to a Freedom of Information request for the government to supply data relating to the number of deaths per year from myocarditis for the last ten years by age and sex, this was the predictable convenient response:
‘We do not hold analysis for 2021 on myocarditis by sex and age. In order to fulfil this request, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information to respond to requests. However, we do intend to update our NOMIS website with 2021 data once the data have been finalised in 2022.’
