The vaccine victim seeking answers from Dame June Raine

GILLIAN Dymond’s article in TCW on Tuesday, ‘Covid vaccines: I just want to understand why, Dame June’ is eerily familiar.

After becoming vaccine injured myself and starting a support group last year for others like me, I too wrote to Dame June Raine on behalf of our then 530 members.

There was a simple question that was bothering me after listening to Raine’s lecture in December 2021, ‘Regulation Follows Science’, in which she stated, regarding reports of adverse reaction after Covid vaccination, ‘We expected 100,000, we’re now over 400,000.’ (This comes at about 13min 50sec into the video.)

In my letter I asked: ‘If the MHRA expected this many reports, why was there nothing in place for people like me?’

I had naïvely presumed that ifI was unfortunate enough to suffer an adverse event, I would be looked after; I thought there would be a research team; I thought there would be help. This is far from the truth.

I am a 43-year-old mother of two adult sons and sports therapist. Prior to having the vaccine, I was running three times a week and doing weight training alongside running my business. After my second AstraZeneca jab in February last year, I had a reaction causing acute numbness, tremors and more than 30 other symptoms. Adverse reaction to a Covid vaccine is confirmed in my medical notes. I’ve had seven diagnoses so far: peripheral neuropathy, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, postural hypertension and nystagmus. I have not worked in 15 months and am not able to exercise due to ongoing cardiac investigations.

There are no guidelines for adverse events like mine, in fact doctors haven’t really known what to do with me. I take multiple medications just to function at around 30 per cent of my old life. I have spent nearly £10,000 searching for answers. Sadly, I am not the only one.

Our support group, UK CV Family, now has nearly 800 members. They include mothers who are too ill to look after their children and young men who are bedbound; vaccine injury has not discriminated between age, sex or race. Most of these people were fit and healthy before they took the vaccine but some were already dealing with chronic illnesses which have been exacerbated, rendering them disabled.

Last month we attended a funeral: one of our members couldn’t live this life of suffering any more and decided to take leave.

Our symptoms can be frightening, painful, relentless and ever-changing. It’s as if we are fighting fires – just as one symptom abates, another returns and there are multiple fires burning at once.

Where is the ‘extra layer of assurance’ you promised us in your December 2021 lecture, Dame June Raine? (About 13min into the video.) Are we to be discarded as collateral damage? Is this how we treat people when things go wrong?

It’s been four months since I wrote to June Raine on behalf of myself and the many people who are suffering. I still await a response.

Footnote: UK CV Family members feature in the latest documentary by Oracle films and Mark Sharman here, which Kathy Gyngell wrote about in TCW on Sunday.

Another film was made by James Wells, featuring the scandalous spectacle of Tory MP Sir Christopher Chope speaking to a near-empty House of Commons about the plight of the vaccine-injured. It is called UK CV Family: A Letter to my MP and it can be seen here.
