Today’s hot topic: Lineker’s £1.75m banter


WHILE hundreds of thousands face unemployment there is no sign of

Britain’s highest-paid public ‘servant’, the BBC’s Gary Lineker, being laid off. With no football for him to present, he has retreated to his kitchen to deliver ‘banter’ with Alan Shearer and Ian Wright in the Match of the Day slot. 

Should he continue to be paid a reported £1.75million a year for his services while many viewers will struggle to pay the licence fee from which he derives his income? Discuss!
