WE thought it was an April Fool spoof when we found this on Twitter:
But no. Surrey Police, as well as watching out for people minding their own business while exercising, have an LGBT unit, and they claim that parents turn to them for advice on which pronouns to use if their child comes out as gay or trans. Would that be your first port of call in those circumstances? Incidentally the recommendation to contact Stonewall for help did not go down well with many others on Twitter.
Should the Chief Constable be told to close down this waste of money and time – there are umpteen of these tweets – and be reminded what his officers are there for? That is, to prevent and deal with crime, not to push an identity politics agenda. Discuss!
