THIS week we were treated to the unedifying spectacle of the Presidents of France and Canada, the Prime Minister of Britain and the Princess Royal apparently giggling behind the President of America’s back.
On Wednesday’s BBC PM programme, Evan Davis said: ‘The Nato meeting went well but the relations between the leaders still need a bit of work . . . after a segment of video that emerged showing several national leaders laughing about the President. Is it a laughing matter that the West lacks a US leader commanding universal respect?’
On Twitter, Piers Morgan took a different line:
Whose response was right, Davis or Morgan? Who is the real worry, Donald Trump or leaders who behave like children? Discuss!
