Today’s talking point

THE BBC reports that a survey has found that trust in news coverage has grown in the UK during the ‘pandemic’.

The Reuters Institute Digital News Report found 36 per cent of people in the UK ‘trust most news most of the time’, up from 28 per cent in January 2020.

The BBC says: ‘The report found strictly regulated impartial broadcasters such as BBC, ITV, Sky News, and Channel 4 remained the most trusted, followed by national broadsheet newspapers.’

However the figures mean that 64 per cent of people – close to two-thirds – do not trust ‘most news most of the time’. Strange that the BBC chose not to look at it from that angle.

Feel free to discuss this or anything else on your mind.
