TODAY is National Teachers’ Day, ‘an annual celebration of those who dedicate their lives to the education of others’. Research by StoryTerrace, a firm which ghostwrites biographies for a fee, suggests that 62 per cent of the nation now have a greater appreciation of teachers due to the impact of the pandemic. It says: ‘The vital role of teachers, mentors, guides and coaches was recognised even more throughout the pandemic, as lockdown and subsequent home-schooling left school children requiring more educational, social, and emotional support than ever before.’ The firm is asking for nominations for teachers ‘who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to help someone through their education during the pandemic’, and those received so far can be seen here.
We assume that nominations will not include teachers on full pay who refused to go back to school in January, or who will not listen to evidence that vaccination with experimental gene therapy is not necessary for children and will certainly harm some of them.
Feel free to discuss this or anything else on your mind.
