IT’S THE same old story – the government is not doing enough. Despite Chancellor Rishi Sunak throwing another £150billion down the public spending black hole in yesterday’s Budget, the usual suspects came out moaning.
Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves said Sunak had done nothing for struggling families: ‘Never has a chancellor asked the British people to pay so much for so little.’
But why do these people expect the government to do everything? Isn’t it they who lack ambition? Would they ever be satisfied however much money government spends?
In any case, what has the government done to suggest that it is remotely competent to run our lives?
