Today’s talking point

WITH the closing of Nigel Farage’s Coutts account still in the headlines, other examples of banks sacking their customers for apparently political reasons are coming to light. Yesterday TCW  heard from Louise May Creffield, founder of a human rights organisation, Save Our Rights UK (SORUK). The group’s account was closed after she was convicted of breaching Covid regulations during a series of anti-lockdown protests in central London.

You can read her press release here.

We wonder why similar sanctions are not being applied by banks to organisations such as Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion who almost daily cause widespread disruption in pursuit of a cause which many, including TCW,  believe is not valid.
