DOES it look as if the government have already backtracked on their latest insane bribe to pay people £500 to self-isolate, thus pouring another few billion down the Covid black hole?
Let’s hope, but I am not holding my breath.
Next they will be suggesting a universal income payable if you never leave the house.
Has it occurred to anyone how rapidly this government with their fundamentalist Nervtag advisers have moved the country into Death of Stalin territory?

One of the many scenes that stayed with me was of Stalin’s Politburo henchmen far too terrified even to touch (let alone help) the dying tyrant. And how when they sought a doctor who might be competent to treat him and who would dare, there were none – Stalin had dispatched them all to the Gulag or to their death.
Wouldn’t a more self-aware government have realised by now that their never-ending ‘zero Covid’ quest to ‘save the NHS’ is leading to a similar self-inflicted spiral of destruction?
