Today’s talking point

-

BORIS Johnson has announced that schools in England will not reopen until Monday March 8 at the earliest – five and a half weeks hence – and then only if vaccination targets are met.

As Kathy Gyngell tweeted yesterday afternoon: ‘Boris still completely happy to sacrifice children’s happiness, mental health and futures. All he does is kick the can. What a feeble, feeble man.’

Given that official figures this week showed that teachers are not at higher risk of death from Covid-19 than the general population, and that they are at lower risk than many other groups of workers including catering staff, care workers and taxi drivers, is the Prime Minister justified in keeping schools closed?
