JOE Root performs brilliantly for England in the first Test Match against India. 

Wales take on Ireland in the rugby union Six Nations opener tomorrow.

Jose Mourinho reflects on Tottenham’s third successive defeat and concludes that perhaps he should reduce the amount of encouragement he gives his team.

In other words, for professional sport it is business as usual, even without spectators – business being the operative word with TV money still rolling in.

Meanwhile tennis and golf clubs remain shut and all children’s sport is cancelled.

Is it time for the professional sportsmen to speak up on behalf of amateurs and children?
