A POLL for Reclaim suggests that half of Britons believe they are less free to say what they think than five years ago.

The government claims to be waging a ‘war on woke’. Education Secretary Gavin Williamson promises a ‘Free Speech Champion’ with powers to defend free speech and academic freedom on campuses. He says colleges or student bodies which try to cancel, dismiss or demote people over their views will be sanctioned.

Culture secretary Oliver Dowden summons heritage bodies and charities to a summit ‘to defend our culture and history from the noisy minority of activists constantly trying to do Britain down’.

Yesterday on TCW Michael St George condemned the Tories’ ‘war on woke’ as a phoney one and said that to be seen as serious they needed to take on their own party, Big Tech and the BBC.
