Today’s talking point

-

MANY of us have no idea why we are still on the Conservative Party mailing list. Is it just useless admin at CCHQ or some unfounded optimism that people like me will see the error of their ways and return to their new totalitarian fold?

I am not complaining though. The emails and letters do have the virtue of confirming to me my deep distaste for this party as well as granting me insights into its ever more pathological mindset. Last week’s offering from the Prime Minister beat any to date and is copied below. It made me wonder about the state of his mental health. It’s not just his NHS worship, but his disturbing excitement at the idea of needles going in the arms of thousands, that left me feeling not a little nauseous. Do you agree?

Feel free to discuss this or anything else on your mind.

(BTW I haven’t yet been brave enough to watch the video . . . )

Kathy,

I want to take this chance to talk to you about our Covid-19 vaccination programme.

The needles going into our arms in the hundreds of thousands.

Saving lives, protecting the people we love and finally offering the prospect of real hope.

Please take a moment to watch my broadcast to the nation on our vaccination programme and the way ahead:

These miracle vaccines contain a lesson about our future as a country, about jobs and growth and skills and how were going to learn from this pandemic and build back better.

They are in a nutshell the formula for our county’s prosperity in the years to come.

A strong and active government investing massively in science and technology, coupled with a dynamic enterprise economy, working together to benefit every corner of the UK.

They show us the way ahead.

So Kathy, I hope you’ll watch my broadcast at this pivotal moment for our country.

Thank you,

Boris Johnson
Prime Minister
