YESTERDAY brought Boris Johnson’s latest specious suggestion for speeding up his own snail’s pace exit from lockdown. Everyone over 18 is to be offered twice-weekly Covid tests.
He really does take us for fools. My Twitter poll thankfully shows that we are by no means as gullible as he assumes – praise the Lord.
Only a small minority think it’s a good idea, in our most responded-to poll to date. At the time of writing over 10,000 had voted under 13 per cent of whom said they’d do it against 87 per cent saying they wouldn’t.
Apart from covering his own back (and spending a lot more of the money we don’t have) what does the Prime Minister think this will achieve, if he thinks at all?
Turning us into a nation of even more Covid obsessed hypochondriacs than already exist? Is that what he wants? Encouraging the bossy elements in the population to act as Covid testing marshals as well as mask wardens? What a sick man he is.
