The Government’s tiered lockdown system has passed in the Commons by 291 votes to 78. Almost 98 per cent of Englishmen will be forced into the strictest two tiers from midnight, and some areas will face tighter restrictions than before the second lockdown as the attempt by Tory rebels to reject these measures failed.
