UK commits ‘eyewatering’ £1billion on risky and harmful covid vaccines

-

THE UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has established ‘preferential channels’ to purchase covid vaccines worth up to £1billion between 2024 and 2028. This astonishing fact we know thanks to the diligence of Tom Jefferson and Carl Heneghan. They spotted the Government Contract Notice and reported it on their Trust the Evidence substack.

It is, as they put it, ‘an eye-watering sum set aside for the purchase of vaccines with an uncertain effectiveness and harms profile’.

So how do the government propose to commit this money? The contract notice tells of a process, a ‘Dynamic Purchasing System’, not its beneficiaries. What we do know is:

  • The UKHSA is establishing ‘a Dynamic Purchasing System’ for product(s) indicated for protection from covid for future immunisation campaigns. The duration of the DPS will be four years (2024-2028);
  • It anticipates a requirement over the period 2024 to 2028 for the supply of product(s) indicated for protection from covid;
  • The annual requirement for covid vaccines will be determined by Department of Health and UKHSA policy following advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI)  as to which cohorts should be included in an upcoming immunisation programme;
  • The UKHSA is seeking to establish a Dynamic Purchasing System to provide a flexible route to market as a means of meeting the requirements for covid vaccines.

This UKHSA byzantine and bureaucratic ‘newspeak’ creation appears designed to manage and direct (authorise) all this money without any further accountability. Jefferson and Heneghan asked the UKHSA what this Dynamic Purchasing System actually is and they got this answer. Further bureaucratic codswallop.

The truth is that it is no more than three words designed to conceal who they plan to dole the money out to and over what period of time. That is our interpretation. What the Agency are doing is covering themselves with a spurious need – to have a group of ‘trusted providers’ to which it can turn ‘in times of trouble’. On the names of these ‘suitably qualified’ providers, they remain shy.

We on TCW can make some guesses as to who they will be. Who else but the Big Pharma companies who have already profited handsomely out of the Government’s covid vaccine rollouts to date? Don’t forget the Government’s existing ‘arrangement’ with Moderna – the £1billion ten year pharma partnership that the Vaccines Task Force brokered between the UK Government and Moderna before the Task Force was stood down in the autumn of 2022. Under the terms of this partnership, Paula Jardine reported for TCW, Moderna is ‘committed’ to building a £150million ‘UK Innovation and Technology Centre’ with the capacity to churn out 250million doses of mRNA vaccines annually. This was a major health investment agreement made without being subject to Parliamentary debate or scrutiny and despite a mountain of evidence, even then, bringing the safety, efficacy and durability of these novel gene therapies into question.

The Times reported at the time that the new facility was to be constructed in Harwell, Oxfordshire, in time for a 2025 grand opening. This is where Sir John Bell’s ‘HealthTec Cluster’ in the Science and Innovation Campus is sited. It is also the home of the more recent Vaccitech of which Professor Adrian Hill, Director, Jenner Institute, University of Oxford, is the director and co-founder, the other co-founder being Dame Sarah Gilbert of the failed AstraZeneca vaccine and Barbie doll fame

Happy to be proved wrong but our guess is that UKHSA’s ‘trusted providers’ will be the same operators – Moderna, BioNTech and Vaccitech. BioNTech set up a UK subsidiary in late 2020 just before the vax authorisation and no doubt the Oxford ‘cabal’ will have a bite of the cherry too.

It is nothing short of scandalous the Government is pouring good money after bad and still putting in place mechanisms to purchase covid vaccines – continuing to invest such huge sums of money for products that not needed, are ineffective and, worst of all, cause real harm. Coming, too, just as the US has decided to ban mRNA vaccine development and has overturned Moderna’s contracts, both of which suggest a dawning realisation and acceptance over there of the full extent of the vaccines’ uselessness for preventing infections and danger.
