LOVE him or loathe him, there is no question that Donald Trump is a phenomenon. I said it in 2016 and I will say it again. He is no fool. Which is why those who loathe him have persistently derided, denigrated and deplatformed him and finally, when that failed, are doing their damnedest to silence him with arrest.
You simply cannot trust the MSM to report this or him fairly and squarely. This was proved again to me yesterday.
Checking the Times and Telegraph online at 1.30pm yesterday for their coverage of Trump’s defiant and powerful speech outside the Miami courtroom yesterday I found the usual ad hominem attacks and prejudiced reporting. From the Times came ‘Trump delivered a characteristic rant’ and ‘vowed to take his revenge’ in an article so selectively negative in tone and content that not once did it refer to Trump’s potent defence case. This, in brief, is that if he is to be indicted on the charge of keeping records, so too should Bill Clinton and endless other Presidents; that the premise of the indictment is an abuse of the 1917 US Espionage Act; and finally that the Bill Clinton Presidential Records Act affair sets the legal precedent. In short, he states this is a witch hunt during an election period.
The Telegraph however did not examine this anymore than the Times did. Their article, headlined ‘Inside the court as Trump’s orange tanned face darkened into a scowl‘, linked to edited footage of ‘Trump supporters and protesters’ (just two by the way of the latter against the many, many former) which was edited carefully to mark with bleeps two ‘kill Biden’ shouts, but not to his speech at all.
The Epoch Times headline of yesterday, by contrast, stated simply and straightforwardly: ‘Trump pleads not guilty’.
So here below for TCW readers is Trump’s speech courtesy of the Forbes YouTube channel.
Forbes also did a better job of reporting the content of the speech – providing enough information for the reader to consider or ask questions from – here.
