Vaccine exemptions that care workers need to be aware of

ON TCW yesterday we shared some advice for care workers arbitrarily sacked by the Government for their decision to refuse the Covid vaccine.

Since then I have been alerted to the fact that care home workers can also self-certify an exemption from compulsory jabs until December 24. After that (if the Government does not retract) they would need to use the NHS app and get an official exemption from their doctor. The significant point is that they have a further 12 weeks in which to do this, which would take them up to the end of March, putting them pretty much in line with the threatened April 1 deadline for all other NHS front line staff

Please share this information and this link with any affected care worker you know.

It will at least buy them time and keep them in work and pay till April. There is nothing illegal about this – it is written into Government guidelines.
