The Deputy PM has pledged not to let a coalition lurch off to the extremes. By that he means he will block anything remotely socially conservative. Unfortunately for him, there was a power cut at his manifesto launch. We hope this is a sign the lights will also soon go out on Clegg’s political career.
The Lib Dem leader pledged to “add a heart to a Conservative government and add a brain to a Labour one”, emphasising his policies of increases in nursery funding, NHS funding and tax rises to reduce the budget deficit. Nothing conservative about that then.
