It’s Monday so it’s a good day for a Jordan B Peterson video. In this one, Peterson talks about the incredible changes that have taken place in the West in relation to women since the 1970s.
Some of the changes have been good, he says, some have been absolutely fundamental (such as the Pill) and some have been more negative.
Peterson points out that what can be good for society might not be so good for individual women. The collapse in marriage, for instance, leaves poorer women vulnerable to predatory men. He says that only the rich can marry now, and they are hardly oppressing themselves, as these women know that marriage is something worthwhile.
He also discusses the pay gap and why law firms find it impossible to keep 30-something women (although it looks to me that very many do manage to keep very many).
In any case, an interesting start to your week.
