Matt Hancock quit as Health Secretary on Saturday night after Tory MPs began breaking ranks to publicly call for him to quit over his ‘toxic’ breach of social distancing guidance to have an affair with his aide. Downing Street has announced that Sajid Javid, the former Chancellor, would be brought back into government to replace Mr Hancock, avoiding the need for a wider reshuffle. The new Health Secretary could appear in the Commons as soon as Monday to give an update on the planned easing of Covid restrictions – Sunday Telegraph
