We’re halfway there – thank you!

THANKS to your wonderful generosity we are halfway to our TCW crowdfunding target of £25,000, the money that will enable us to buy in some much-needed assistance, make necessary updates to the site and promote it so that more people hear of us.

At the time of writing, our Go Fund Me appeal is over £7,000. Many of you, however, have chosen to donate via our PayPal button to the tune of £4,000 in the two weeks since we made our request (including those recurring payments of our long-term loyal supporters). And that is not all. Some you requested our bank details to make direct transfers which has brought us a further £1,100 of new donations. Thank you, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Those who have not yet received a personal thank you from me – you will!

What has overwhelmed us as much as your generosity has been your comments and the range of reasons you give for supporting our platform whose purpose I explained here. We began by selecting a few but were so touched by this vindication of our efforts that we are relaying them all:

‘I still hope there’s hope with people like this involved.’

‘Thank you for exposing the EU for what it really is.’

‘As a thank you for the excellent articles that I look forward to every day.’

‘I was inspired by article on Christian basis of Brexit. Please print more.’

‘I loved the Nick Drake article.’

‘You remind me that there is some sanity left in this country. Thank you.’

‘I value the voice of common sense.’

‘I don’t agree with everything written on TCW and, in fact find some of the comments as one-sided as the people they criticise. However, the mainstream media are so biased I enjoy getting an alternative point of view. I used to listen to Radio Moscow in the Soviet period, not because I agreed, but, by hearing different points of view about current affairs (in contrast to the BBC) I feel able to see things more clearly. I think there is a Zen teaching which says something like: If you can hold opposite points of view in your mind till you see them as equally true, then you have really understood. We live in polarising times. A new harmony will be achieved when the worldview held by TCW and the mainstream are held in equal value.’

‘I donated because TCW’s articles keep me informed and sane at the same time!’

‘The Conservative Woman is an excellent website with extremely well-written articles (which mainly reflect my opinion) and I enjoy the comments from the regulars who contribute. Good luck and keep up the good work.’

‘Keep up the good work CW. You are a breath of fresh air amongst all the nonsense we are subjected to by the MSM. THANK YOU.’

‘The fight needs to be taken to the Left with facts, intelligence and courage. You guys are leading the way. Well done, and all strength to your pen.’

‘You are so needed to counter the left wing/liberal bias in our country.’

‘I share your views and I have never been so angry at a large section of our Parliament.’

‘An outstanding publication. A prophetic voice of our time.’

‘Extraordinary how this tiny outlet manages to provide badly needed balance and to champion the family, freedom & personal responsibility. I’m very happy to continue to support it.’

‘I am 100 per cent behind everything you stand for.’

‘I really value what you do, it is so important,’

‘We need the CW with a similar role to the Institute of Public Affairs, Australia. Reduce State power and red tape.’

‘TCW is a clear headed, pragmatic, factual, honest blog site promoting conservative values. A beautiful tropical island in a sea of MSM mud.’

‘You guys are great!!’

‘TCW has greatly valued comment.’

‘Conservative Woman is one of the few oases of calm and rationality in a world increasingly full of hysterical hyperbole . . . keep up the good work.’

‘Yr damn good and to help keep up yr good work.’

‘I donated because I’m sick to death of the mainstream media (BBC, Sky, Guardian, etc) and their brutally divisive identity politics that form the basis of almost all their reporting. The bias is obvious and unrelenting. The Conservative Woman provides us with a welcome reminder that there are plenty of intelligent and well adjusted people with something different to say.’

‘My philosophy is conservative and I learn a lot from Conservative Woman. It’s time to pay something back.’

‘I enjoy reading TCW and agree with the sentiments expressed in many of the articles.’

‘This contains some of the best political commentary that I see.’

‘I’m a regular reader. By the way, where’s Laura?’

‘You’re a good site, good contributors and good comment posters, a joy to complete the evening with. Well done to you all, much appreciated.’

‘You are doing a great job, and thank you!’

‘Absolutely brilliant content!’

‘It’s so encouraging to know that others are as concerned as I about what is happening to our country.’

‘I look forward to reading contributions that so match my personal views on a daily basis. Thanks for all the hard work.’

‘I believe in democracy, the rule of law and the British system, which sounds pompous but is true!’

‘I support your work. Timely reminder for me to make a donation. Please keep doing what you are doing.’

‘I like your editorial asking for support.’

‘I wish to support your good work and whilst not flush with funds right now, am responding to your appeal. Good luck!’

‘I read the daily digest without fail. I met Kathy some years ago when I spoke at a Recovery convention with Huseyin Djemil – lovely lady. Small “c” conservative is a refreshing change from the charlatans and sycophants in the corridors of power.’

‘I want you to continue.’

‘The Conservative Woman seems to be the very last bastion of decency and morality, while affording robust debate, without the now traditional shrill criticism of the Virtue Signallers, whose motivation is solely selfish and patronising. Keep up the great work CW.’

‘Standards and values which used to be the norm are now the exception. Thank you for continuing to stand out against the crowd.’

‘Fine words butter no parsnips!’

‘An antidote to the madness.’

‘There is never a day when I don’t find something interesting to read on your site. Please keep it up.’

‘A voice of sanity in a crazy world.’

‘I donated because I should have done so earlier. This is one of my “go to” sites, second only to (who kindly provided the link!). Laura Perrins and her colleagues do excellent work.’

‘Great articles.’

‘You are brilliant!’

‘Unbiased insightful commentary with cultural values which will bless any society.’

‘I enjoy reading your articles, some of which are superb and others very good. I also want to help you survive and expand. Keep up the excellent work and please never change your stance. Thank you.’

‘I donated not just because I found safe harbor among like-minded people, but have found new friends. We’ve never seen each other but if laughing with you and crying with you is the measure of a friend, I have surely found friendship here.’

‘Having recently found you I now read avidly every morning.’

‘I donate because I wish to support those who stand up for the traditions, values and way of life of the UK and who fight against those individuals and organisations who seek to attack and undermine same.’

I have to end with this comment:

‘In a world where the mass media is saturated with left wing thought and a significant number of people have come to believe that Left = intelligent and progressive while Right = dimwitted and atavistic, TCW is almost unique as a truly conservative journal. It must be encouraged to prevail.’

If you haven’t yet added your encouragement please don’t just think about it – do it, via the PayPal button on the home page or via our Go Fund Me website.

Help us reach the £25,000 target we so badly need. Thank you!

If you appreciated this article, perhaps you might consider making a donation to The Conservative Woman. Unlike most other websites, we receive no independent funding. Our editors are unpaid and work entirely voluntarily as do the majority of our contributors but there are inevitable costs associated with running a website. We depend on our readers to help us, either with regular or one-off payments. You can donate here. Thank you.
If you have not already signed up to a daily email alert of new articles please do so. It is here and free! Thank you.
