JUST over a week ago the Prime Minister announced, apparently emphatically, that the trade talks with the EU were over.
Three days later it looked rather less clear. At TCW we were not sanguine – was the Prime Minister at his ‘psy-ops’ again? We doubted whether the EU were taken in. We decided therefore to test the public mood on what Johnson really ought to do.
In a Twitter poll which closed on Friday we asked whether you thought he really should commit now to leaving the EU without a trade deal on December 31?
Your answer was emphatic. Only 8 per cent of you disagreed, the overwhelming majority of 92 per cent saying he should.
I hope the Prime Minister is listening. Unfortunately, I doubt if he is.
