Where are Sage’s ‘scientists’ now? Priming us for UN Agenda 2030 – Part 4

In her investigation into what has happened to members of the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), Karen Harradine tracked in Part 1 the continuing influence of Chris Whitty, still the Chief Medical Officer, and Sir Patrick Vallance and, in Part 2, Sir Jonathan Van-Tam, Jeremy Farrar and Susan Michie. In the third instalment she examined the roles of Dame Jenny Harries and Neil Ferguson.

SHORING up Ferguson’s doomsday death warnings was fellow Sage and NERVTAG member John Edmunds, Professor of Infectious Disease Modelling and affiliate of the Faculty of Epidemiology and Population Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), another lockdown and vaccination hardliner. He famously accused the government of ‘flip-flopping’ between economic incentives such as Eat Out To Help Out and closures, which he preferred. He has argued, and still insists (at the Hallett Inquiry recently) that the delay to lockdown cost lives. He too, in effect, has violated the Nuremberg Code numerous times by warning in 2020 that Covid-19 restrictions would not be lifted unless enough people were vaccinated.

Edmunds’s vaccine obsession can partly perhaps be explained by his collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) on vaccine experiments for the developing world and his membership of the Coalition of Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) science advisory board. Like Vallance and Van-Tam, he also has a connection to GSK: his partner works for the company.

Was it such associations that collectively shaped Sage’s Covid policies? No matter the answer, Edmunds’s role in terrorising the public has paid off for him. Together with his team at the LSHTM he was awarded the 2022 Queen’s Anniversary Prize for ‘Covid-19 and pandemic preparedness’. Indeed the LSHTM is proud of the impact it had on Covid policy. It was (and no little thanks to Edmunds) ‘in a unique position to act when Covid-19 hit the world’.

No wonder. Its multidisciplinary analyses combining mathematical modelling with social and behavioural science, as described by LSHTM, were used not just by Sage, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for England and the UK government Chief Scientific Adviser (CSA) to ‘help formulate policy advice for the government to make evidence-based strategy decisions on virus control measures, including lockdowns, school closures and reopening, and NHS capacity’, some conveniently were commissioned by Sage. LSHTM was one of three university departments to be commissioned by the Sage subcommittee, the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling, Operational sub-group (SPI-M-O),on which Edmunds and Ferguson sat to conduct modelling research. Two of the other lucky recipients were Imperial College London and Nottingham University.

No government-appointed science committee has influenced public health policy as much as Sage. Many of its members were compromised by their connections to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and/or funded by GlaxoSmithKline and Wellcome Foundation. Many like Ferguson and Edmunds were also employees of the universities and colleges commissioned to conduct modelling research, a scaremongering exercise that was to be the basis of hardline Sage advice to the Government to dissuade the government from easing restrictions. The paper produced by the LSHTM group was the most pessimistic of all. It warned that a ‘third wave’ and new variants would bring a high death toll. It also stressed the need for Test and Trace which, together with that other Sage recommendation, vaccine passports, proved to be a formula for digital slavery and a surveillance state.

A lesser-known member of Sage but still quietly influential was Professor Dame Angela McLean, another ‘modeller’ who until April this year was Professor of Mathematical Biology in the Department of Zoology at Oxford University and a Fellow of All Souls College. Today she is the Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser. She is also head of the Government Science and Engineering Profession. Prior to this she was the Chief Scientific Adviser for the Ministry of Defence.

As deputy to Sir Patrick Vallance, the then Government Chief Scientific Adviser, she co-chaired with Professor Graham Medley the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling (SPI-M-O), the Sage subgroup whose blinkered data analysis and mathematical modelling dominated the government’s response. Her research interests lie, almost predictably in this closed shop, ‘in the use of mathematical models to aid our understanding of the evolution and spread of infectious agents’. Not perhaps as forward as some of her counterparts, McLean still got on to the airwaves to promote Test and Trace, to admonish the government for insufficient obedience to Sage diktats, and played a part in disseminating Covid-19 propaganda. Her reward was to be appointed as Chief Scientific Advisor in February, taking over from Vallance.

As far back as 2009, she was a regular at Davos. She was discussing pandemics at a panel there in 2012.

When asked by the House of Commons in July what her top priorities were for her new role, McLean said ‘science and technology for resilience; the science and technology framework; a more scientific civil service; artificial intelligence, and climate change’. Of course. Her focus is ‘on understanding which risks in our national risk register are the ones on which scientific input can have the most impact.’

At the end of 2021, McLean’s co-chair Professor Graham Medley inadvertently exposed the slippery practices its members had been permitted to develop and use to control the Covid response narrative. That the policy was driving the data, and not the other way, apparently mattered not. Every member of Sage has got away with it including Professor Medley, made an OBE in 2020 for his services to the Covid-19 response.

An astonishing number of these ‘doctors and scientists’ are epidemiological modellers who, if they ever had any ethics, have forgotten them long since. They failed to understand the limitations (dependability and accuracy) of their ‘craft’, uncritically and recklessly using their spurious science to transform themselves into prophets of doom. Many clearly violated the Nuremberg Code and Hippocratic Oath, and range from uncritical to ardent agents for Agenda 2030. They are guilty too of ignoring decades of real experimental, medical and observational science, while these scientists, medical doctors, immunologists and pharmacology experts amongst them, have been hounded, censored and persecuted.

Thanks to the bullying tactics of Sage and its puppets, billions of public funds were wasted on perpetuating the Covid-19 fear narrative, and its ‘remedies’ such as vaccines and masks. The lockdown fanaticism of Sage members obliterated the economy and shredded the social contract. Millions are still suffering from the consequences, neglected and forgotten. Children have not recovered from their exclusion from school. For their culpability in implementing this tyranny, these men and women should be stripped of their honours and their positions. Nuremberg Two can’t come fast enough.

The list of SAGE members can be found here. Not all members of the working groups have declared their names.
