GREENPEACE was founded in the early 1970s to campaign against nuclear testing in the atmosphere and hunting whales to extinction. Somewhere along the line it morphed into a political organisation with an agenda opposed to capitalism and obsessed with man-made global warming. One of its earliest members was Dr Patrick Moore, who in a 2019 interview with Mike Huckabee described how he parted company with Greenpeace, saying: ‘I didn’t leave it – it left me.’
What Moore said then about the warped priorities of the green movement is probably even more relevant now, as this country faces a cold winter while sitting on an abundance of energy. His clear and practical views are well worth hearing.
